St. Louis Blues Hire New GM and Coach

2021-03-04

The St. Louis Blues new GM,  Andrew Lord, wasted no time making his mark on the team, quickly firing head coach Tommy Ivan. "We have high expectations for this team. The franchise has been around long enough now that it's time to take the next step in its evolution and we don't see that happening under the old management system. We thank Tommy for his dedication to the club and wish him well in his career going forward. And with that we would like to introduce the newest head coach of the St. Louis Blues, Scotty Bowman!"

Bowman had most recently been coaching the New York Islanders farm team in Utah and jumped at the opportunity to get back to the pro league when the Blues came calling this morning. "I'm looking forward to getting back behind the bench of a pro club and St.Louis is a perfect fit. There's a lot to work with here and I want to thank GM Lord and the Blues for the chance to try and get this team a cup."

With the trade deadline having recently passed, the fans will have to wait until the offseason to see what other changes may be in store for the St. Louis Blues. GM Lord spoke about the state of the Blues lineup, "I've had the opportunity to watch a couple games here as we just had a back to back set against Vancouver and Detroit. Two really good opponents. The home game versus Vancouver was a hard fought tie, lots to like about what I saw there. The game against Detroit was not so good. It was obvious there are some conditioning issues as a few of the guys had trouble keeping up with the flow of the game right from the start. I expect Bowman will put them through their paces over the next couple weeks and have them ready for a first round playoff matchup."

Fans of the Blues are excited to see what high notes this team can hit with a new tandem running the show in St.Louis.
